Fatal Accident in Kédougou: Mechanic Dies, Driver Fleeing

A traffic accident at the entrance of Kédougou on National Road No. 7 resulted in the death of a young mechanic around 20 years old and serious injuries to two others, on Friday around 8 p.m. The victims, riding a motorcycle near the bus station in the Pasteur Butler neighborhood, were hit by a Land Cruiser 4×4 whose driver attempted to overtake a truck, causing a head-on collision. The driver fled the scene without assisting the victims, who were evacuated to the regional hospital by firefighters. The local residents are calling for the installation of speed bumps to improve safety, especially for schoolchildren crossing this dangerous stretch.
