Fighting Financial Crime: Interpol and GIZ Strengthen Capacities of Senior Officials

About thirty magistrates, commissioners, customs officers, and other senior Ivorian officials have been participating since June 8, 2026, in a national workshop on financial investigations, anti-corruption, and criminal asset recovery at Interpol's West Africa regional office in Abidjan-Cocody. The workshop, opened by Kouassi Bernard, chief of staff of the Minister of Justice, will run until June 12. Participants will deepen techniques such as parallel financial investigation, identification of beneficial owners, dismantling of shell companies, and investigation of digital assets. The goal is to create a group of certified trainers and to use Interpol's Silver Notice to locate assets hidden across borders.
