Nigeria’s rehabilitation crisis deepens as 80% of occupational therapists leave

Nigeria is experiencing a severe shortage of occupational therapists, with about 80% of trained professionals leaving for better opportunities. At the Federal School of Occupational Therapy's convocation, Acting Registrar Philomena Omoike highlighted that there are only 160 registered therapists in the country, with very few practicing. She called for the establishment of more training institutions and improved remuneration to address this crisis.
