The government confirms the school year starts this Tuesday, September 1, including in areas affected by Ebola

State Minister for National Education Raïssa Malu confirmed that the 2026-2027 school year will start on Tuesday, September 1, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including in areas affected by Ebola. She announced the launch of 78 school canteens and civic watch clubs to improve learning conditions. Malu emphasized the importance of students' presence on the first day and reassured teachers about the regularity of pay and social protection. Enhanced sanitary measures will be implemented in response to the Ebola threat in several provinces.
