NAFDAC uncovers illegal herbal product factory in Lagos, arrests manager

NAFDAC uncovered an illegal herbal-product manufacturing facility in Agege, Lagos State, and arrested the company manager for questioning. Three variants of Asheitu Adams Bitters carried registration number A7-1827L, which checks showed belongs to Greentol Cough Syrup. The investigation followed a Guardian report published on October 10, 2026, about herbal products bearing fake registration numbers. The company’s managing director was absent during the operation, and NAFDAC urged the public to report suspected illegal manufacturing activities.
