Beni: About twenty people arrested during a lockdown operation in Malepe

A lockdown operation conducted by the Congolese National Police and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo led to the arrest of 28 people in Malepe, Beni, on September 19, 2026. Among those arrested are two soldiers and seven women. Security forces also seized two firearms and over 169 cartridges. This operation follows a rise in urban crime in the area, marked by recent incidents that resulted in loss of life.
