Benin: Céna sets the designation of village chiefs

Benin's National Autonomous Electoral Commission (Céna) has finalized the list of villages and city districts where the Union Progressiste Le Renouveau (UP Le Renouveau) and the Bloc Républicain (BR) are authorized to designate village chiefs, based on the 2026 communal election results. One locality, Agbotavou, remains pending due to a Supreme Court ruling of February 19, 2026, that reinstated seventeen previously nullified ballots. Céna cannot yet determine the geographical impact of these votes.
