Donald Trump criticised LeBron James on Thursday, saying the NBA star disrespected the United States during the national anthem at a recent game. In a Truth Social post, Trump shared a video showing James lined up with the Philadelphia 76ers, stretching and making basketball shooting movements, and called on him to apologise to American veterans and heroes. A 76ers representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Trump has repeatedly criticised athletes’ conduct during the anthem, including Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling protest; James has supported the Black Lives Matter movement and other progressive causes.
