Abiola died of heart attack, not poison – Gen. Abubakar

Former Nigerian Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar dismissed claims that Moshood Abiola was poisoned, stating that an autopsy by American, British, Nigerian, and Canadian pathologists concluded he died of a heart attack. Abiola had pre-existing hypertension and heart disease since 1994. He collapsed during a meeting with U.S. officials Tom Pickering and Susan Rice on July 7, 1998.
