2027 AFCON Qualifiers: Sarcelles U17 player Parfait Faton called up to Benin's senior team

At 16, Parfait Faton, a midfielder with AAS Sarcelles’ U17 National side, has received his first call-up to Benin’s senior team. Coach Gernot Rohr selected him for the two matches against the Central African Republic on November 12 and 16 in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. Faton trained at the N’Dali Centre of Excellence and Senegal’s Diambars academy, and has captained Benin’s U17 side; he is also reportedly training with Paris FC. His selection has been met with enthusiasm despite his lack of professional football experience.
