PDP defends Makinde over ‘Wetie’ comment, accuses APC of political intimidation

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused President Bola Tinubu and the APC of being responsible for rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement, the PDP defended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, asserting that his remarks about the historic ‘wetie’ violence were a warning against political repression, not a threat. The PDP also criticized the APC for creating conditions similar to those that led to the ‘wetie’ crisis.
