DRC: Medical Teams Face Deadly Ebola Epidemic

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, medical teams are battling a deadly Ebola epidemic, with grave diggers having to bury contagious bodies. Violence in the eastern part of the country complicates access to care for patients. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO Director-General, noted progress in the Ituri province but warned that the outbreak, linked to a rare strain of the virus, is rapidly spreading to seven provinces with no signs of slowing down.
