Over one million state agents paid out of more than two million recorded in 2025 in the DRC

In 2025, at least one million eight hundred sixty-seven thousand state agents, or 74%, were paid out of two million five hundred one thousand recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Deputy Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Lihau presented these figures during the release of the report 'Public Service in Numbers' in Kinshasa. The report indicates a declining trend in paid personnel, with a rebound in 2025 due to additional mechanizations of teachers.
