Catholic Priest Leads Congregation in Song for Obi and Kwankwaso

A video circulating on X shows a Catholic priest leading worshippers in an Igbo song that describes the NDC of Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a better political platform ahead of the 2027 elections. The video comes as religious leaders publicly weigh in on politics: Muslim cleric Sani Jingir urged Muslims in August to vote for a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, while Kwankwaso condemned his remarks. The Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, meanwhile, endorsed Bola Tinubu for a second term at its 2026 synod in Abuja. Its President-General, Leonard Kawas, said the group supported Tinubu because he had appointed Christians to key positions and shown an ability to accommodate Nigeria’s diversity.
