Benin: China finances €257 million tourism complex in Ouidah

Benin has commissioned Chinese state-owned company Yunnan Construction and Investment Holding Group to build a tourism complex in Ouidah, financed by two loans from Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China totaling over €257 million. The 'La Marina' complex near the Door of No Return will include a replica slave ship, a 3,500-seat arena, and a four-star hotel with 132 rooms. Four kilometers of underwater breakwaters will be built to stabilize the coastline, with opening expected this year.
