8th Edition of the Balafon Festival: Senoufo Culture Between Transmission and Heritage Valorization

The 8th edition of the Balafon Festival took place in Diamakani from April 1 to 4, 2026, highlighting the traditional dance Sôgô Sôgô Bonbon. The festival prioritized the preservation of Senoufo culture, providing a platform for young talents. General Commissioner Mme Koné Mariame praised the participants' commitment, while patron M. Koné Daouda emphasized the social importance of the event in combating irregular immigration. Competitions, including a balafon dance contest, showcased new talents such as Koné N’Golo and Sanogo Gnekoun.
