Tunisia: UGTT reaffirms its role as a social partner despite tensions with the government

On the occasion of International Workers' Day, the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) reaffirmed its role as a social partner, as guaranteed by the Constitution. Its Secretary General, Slaheddine Selmi, condemned attempts to restrict this role and emphasized that the UGTT has never sought to access power. He also highlighted the union's right to defend the economic and social interests of workers.
