Murder of Franck Ngyke and his wife: 21 years later, ACOFEPE and La Référence Plus call for investigations to be reopened

Twenty-one years after journalist Franck Ngyke Kangundu and his wife, Hélène Mpaka, were murdered, ACOFEPE and the La Référence Plus press group are calling for the investigation to be reopened. The couple were killed at their home in Kinshasa during the night of November 2–3, 2005, in front of their children; three Congolese soldiers were convicted in 2006 as the perpetrators. The organizations want any potential masterminds identified and prosecuted, and leads raised by national and international investigations examined through an independent, impartial process free from political interference.
