US lists China’s BYD, Alibaba, Baidu as ‘Chinese military companies’

The United States has designated Chinese giants Alibaba, BYD and Baidu as companies supporting China's military, expanding its blacklist. The Pentagon included them in an update on Monday, complicating the fragile detente between Washington and Beijing. China's embassy in Washington condemned the decision as discriminatory. The list now includes 188 firms.
