Sh100bn Kenya tea, flowers and meat exports stuck as Middle East conflict bites

Kenya's exports of tea, flowers, and meat, valued at over Sh100 billion, are severely impacted by the conflict in the Middle East, particularly due to the US-Israel war with Iran. Approximately 10 million kilograms of tea worth Sh3 billion are stuck in Mombasa warehouses, leading to weekly losses of Sh1 billion. Delivery times have increased by 10 to 20 days, significantly affecting perishable exports such as flowers and fresh produce.
