NRC running at loss, borrowing to sustain train operations – Opeifa

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr Kayode Opeifa, disclosed that the corporation is operating at a loss due to the high cost of diesel and has resorted to borrowing to sustain train services. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Lagos, he said the rising diesel cost has made operations almost impossible. Opeifa assured workers that management would prioritize their welfare, but improvements depend on the financial position. He also directed the HR department to address issues affecting workforce efficiency.
