I survived 1994 genocide, rebuilt my life in US

Calude Gatebuke, a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, lost his grandfather and two uncles during the conflict. His family fled to the Democratic Republic of Congo before eventually moving to the United States after his father was granted asylum. Adjusting to life in the US was challenging, but he found solace in soccer, which helped him make friends.
