Kenya's High Court dismissed a bid by law firm LJA Associates to recover Sh56.3 million in legal fees from Heineken, upholding the taxing master's rejection of the advocate-client bill of costs. The court found that the parties operated under a work-in-progress (WIP) billing arrangement, making the bill ineligible for taxation. Heineken had settled all invoices raised. LJA Associates had represented Heineken in its legal battle with Maxam Ltd over terminated distribution agreements in East Africa.
