Electoral Code: What the Constitution Says About the Promulgation of Articles L29 and L30

The President of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, announced that the Law Commission will meet this Friday to review Articles L29 and L30 of the Senegalese Electoral Code. The law amending the Electoral Code, adopted on April 28, 2026, was sent back by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for further deliberation due to two different versions of the text. The Constitution also outlines the deadlines for promulgation and appeals to the Constitutional Council, with a promulgation deadline by the President of the National Assembly set for May 14, 2026.
