In Ituri, the Order of Nurses Denounces Working Conditions Amid Ebola Epidemic

The provincial branch of the National Order of Nurses of Congo (ONIC) in Ituri denounces working conditions amid a new Ebola outbreak. They criticize the recruitment of unqualified personnel and insufficient use of local expertise. They also report threats, attacks, and kidnappings against health workers. Vice-president Timothée Kosianza states that as of June 13, 2026, 23 health workers (including nurses and doctors) have died on duty.
