General Population Census: BCR Pleased with Progress of Census Mapping in Kinshasa

Henri Marie Kazadi, technical coordinator of the Central Census Bureau (BCR), said he was satisfied with census mapping in Kinshasa, despite a few minor incidents. More than 1,500 agents have been deployed across the capital for nearly two weeks, working in 62 brigades and 310 teams. The preparatory phase for the general population and housing census comes 42 years after the 1984 census. Mapping operations are due to begin next in the country’s 25 other provinces simultaneously.
