A week of Israel’s lockdown in Hebron: What’s happened, when will it end?

The Israeli army is maintaining its lockdown of Hebron for a seventh consecutive day, conducting raids and restricting movement in the largest city in the occupied West Bank. On Thursday, two Palestinians were injured and seven detained, Wafa reported, while Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians and their vehicles near the city’s northern entrance. Imposed after two Israeli soldiers were killed at a checkpoint near the settlement of Telem, the siege has closed all entrances and exits and restricted access to essential services; more than 3,000 people have been forced to leave the city. Settlers also assaulted three foreign journalists on Wednesday, including Andrey X, who reportedly lost consciousness and was detained without medical care.
