Students Scamper to Safety as Fire Erupts at Dr Aggrey High School in Taita Taveta

A fire broke out at Dr Aggrey High School in Taita Taveta County on April 30, 2026, causing panic among students and teachers. The Kenya Red Cross reported that the cause of the fire is unknown and no casualties have been reported so far. Community members and Red Cross teams are on the ground working to contain the situation. This is not the first fire incident at the school, which was closed indefinitely in 2025 after two dormitories were burned.
