Charaf-Eddine Amara, former president of the Algerian Football Federation, was acquitted by the Algiers court in the corruption case related to the Imetal group. Despite the acquittal, he remains imprisoned due to other ongoing legal proceedings, including one involving the Algerian-Emirati Tobacco Company and another concerning the organization of the 2023 CHAN. Three former FAF presidents are currently detained: Kheireddine Zetchi, Charaf-Eddine Amara, and Djahid Zefizef.
