Mirkhaidarov confirmed that he fought in Ukraine in early 2024 with the Akhmat unit and said he received decorations for bravery. The Kremlin describes such measures as retaliation for European restrictions on Russian assets abroad; temporary management does not necessarily mean the assets have been permanently nationalized.
