Shariah Council debunks claims of calling for prayers against INEC chairman

The Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria has debunked reports that it called on Muslims to pray for the removal of INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, describing the claims as false and misleading. Secretary-General Nafi’u Baba Ahmad stated that the Council never issued such a directive and reiterated its earlier position that the INEC chairman should step down due to concerns over perceived bias against Islam and Muslims.
