West Africa: Central Sahel - Millions of Children in Humanitarian Need, Unicef Official Warns

Nearly 7.5 million children in the Central Sahel region of Africa are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, according to UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Ted Chaiban. Following a visit to Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali, he observed that the region, rich in possibilities, is continuously affected by insecurity and socio-economic crises. Over 3.6 million people have been displaced due to violence, yet signs of hope remain with markets reopening and community support.
