Immigration: Canada increases the value of job offers in Express Entry — what’s changing

Since November 3, 2026, Canada has restored points for eligible job offers in Express Entry, awarding 50, 70 or 100 points according to the occupation’s median salary. Candidates with at least 12 months of Canadian experience in an eligible high-paying occupation may also receive 20 to 70 points, but this bonus cannot be combined with points for a job offer. A Labour Market Impact Assessment is no longer required, although Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will continue checking the employer, position and candidate’s qualifications. Existing profiles are being recalculated automatically, and invitation rounds are paused during the process, which may take up to two weeks.

The organization urged the road maintenance contractor and provincial authorities to take urgent steps to maintain the route and rehabilitate the most damaged structures. The contractor blamed delays on insecurity linked to ADF attacks but said machinery is already on site to continue maintenance and rehabilitation work.
