Widdecombe suspect had 'particular hostility to Reform', court told

The man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe, Joshua Kerry, 28, reportedly had a particular hostility towards Reform and was described as having an extreme left-wing and/or anti-establishment mindset, according to prosecutors. The Old Bailey court was told that Widdecombe's murder was politically and ideologically motivated, with a terrorist connection. Kerry, already charged with her murder in July, faces a second charge of preparing terrorist acts, including online reconnaissance and attempting to break into Nigel Farage's home in April 2025. A five-week trial is scheduled for June 2027, with a hearing set for January.
