US police reported that the suspected gunman at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was armed with multiple weapons when he charged a security checkpoint. Washington DC police chief Jeffery W Carroll stated that officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, resulting in one US Secret Service officer being injured.
