UN experts say Belarus justice system used to target Lukashenko opponents

United Nations experts found that Belarusian state institutions have collaborated to repress government critics through arrests, imprisonment, and surveillance since 2020. A report to be presented to the UN Human Rights Council describes systematic violations of human rights, including arbitrary arrests and closed trials. Belarus has rejected UN criticism and did not cooperate with the experts, who stated that some violations could amount to crimes against humanity.
