Lagos Assembly moves to harmonise taxes, end levy collection

A bill aimed at harmonising taxes and eliminating the collection of levies by unions and other unauthorized groups is currently under consideration by the Lagos State House of Assembly. The legislation states that only the relevant tax authority may assess or collect revenue on behalf of the state or local government councils. Additionally, it prohibits cash payments for taxes and levies, requiring payments to be made electronically.
