In Meetiyagoda, Pavithra Madushani works at a home-based cinnamon factory, a job traditionally reserved for men. Over 350,000 Sri Lankans depend on Ceylon Cinnamon, with the country accounting for 80% of the global market. Sunil Priyantha Weerapperuma, owner of Jaith Ceylon Cinnamon, employs around 200 people and sees the industry as a gateway to prosperity for his community, despite increasing global competition.
