Ahead of the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling, Mustapha Hadji defended Morocco’s award of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, saying the country had done nothing wrong. He argued that the Senegalese players’ temporary walk-off during the final warranted a sanction and that Morocco won the trophy under the rules. Senegal had won 1-0 after extra time in Rabat on January 18, but the CAF later changed the result to a 3-0 forfeit victory for Morocco. Hadji also criticized referee Jean-Jacques Ndala, blaming him for allowing the final to spiral out of control.
