‘I don’t want to judge him’: Mourinho reacts as Ronaldo retires from Portugal team

Cristiano Ronaldo announced on Thursday that he would no longer play for Portugal. Speaking to the media on Friday, José Mourinho said he respected the decision and did not want to judge it. The manager stressed that leaving the national team does not mean the end of the 41-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s career, as Ronaldo still has goals to achieve. Mourinho said he hoped the day Ronaldo eventually retires from football altogether would be different from the day of his announcement.
