Mali: Who was Sadio Camara, colonel killed in Kati?

Sadio Camara, the Minister of Defense, was killed on Saturday in a ram-raid attack at his residence in Kati, carried out by terrorists from JNIM and the Azawad Liberation Front. The attack also resulted in the deaths of one of his wives and two of his grandchildren. Born in 1979, Camara was a central figure in the Malian transition led by General Assimi Goïta, following two coups d'état in 2020 and 2021.
