Kenya: Authorities on high alert against the threat of El Niño phenomenon.

Kenya may face heavy rains starting next month due to the El Niño phenomenon, according to the World Meteorological Organization. 46 out of 47 counties will experience above-normal rainfall. In response, authorities have developed a response plan that includes mapping at-risk areas and preparing for the evacuation of vulnerable populations. The World Health Organization has stated that this phenomenon will persist until February, having already resulted in 490 deaths in 2023 and 2024.
