Full list: U.S. Embassy lists 23 Nigerian states citizens should avoid

The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has identified 23 states as high-risk areas, advising its non-emergency staff and their families to avoid them due to worsening security conditions. Newly added states to the highest-risk category include Plateau, Jigawa, Kwara, Niger, and Taraba. The embassy also warned that crime, terrorism, and kidnapping remain persistent threats in the country.
