Abidjan Port: Importers Outraged by Fees of 59,000, 41,000 and 531,000 CFA Francs

N’Guessan Kouassi Narcisse, secretary-general of the SNGTIVO-CI, has condemned fees imposed by Terminal Roulier d’Abidjan (TERRA) in an open letter to the new director-general of the Port of Abidjan. He says that since 2022 TERRA has charged 59,000 CFA francs to transfer a vehicle to Modeste, with payment due six to seven days after a ship arrives. The union also challenges a 531,000 CFA franc container-unloading fee introduced in December 2025, saying it has not received a satisfactory explanation for how the amount was set. The letter also cites an additional 41,000 CFA francs for another transfer and says measures secured through appeals to customs and the transport ministry did not last.
