Right to Nationality: Changes Announced from the National Assembly

The third extraordinary session of the National Assembly of 2026 opened with 107 deputies present, chaired by Ousmane Sonko. A bill was introduced to authorize the President of the Republic to ratify a protocol related to the right to nationality and the elimination of statelessness in Africa, adopted in February 2024 in Addis Ababa. The President of the Assembly called for a meeting to establish the work schedule regarding this text.
