Ex-Rwandan official appears at UK trial over 1994 genocide

Vincent Brown, a 65-year-old former Rwandan official, appeared in a UK court after being charged with ordering six killings during the first week of the Rwandan genocide in 1994. He denied any wrongdoing in connection with the crimes that resulted in the deaths of over 800,000 people, mostly from the Tutsi ethnic minority. Brown, who changed his last name from Bajinya, was first arrested in 2006, and his extradition to Rwanda was denied by a British court in 2017.
