AFCON 2027 Kick-Off Set for June 19, Final on July 17 as Venue Decision Looms

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 will kick off on June 19, 2027, with the final scheduled for July 17, 2027. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to announce the host country for the opening and closing matches. A draw to determine the qualifying teams will take place on May 19, 2026, with 48 teams participating in the qualifiers. Stadiums under consideration for the matches include the new Talanta Stadium in Nairobi and other facilities in Tanzania and Uganda.
