Ombudsman Forces KETRACO to Pay Landowner Millions Over Delayed Land Acquisition

A landowner received Ksh3.86 million from the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) after delays in payment for land acquisition. The payment was made following intervention by the Commission on Administrative Justice after the landowner filed a complaint. The 1.78-acre land in Naivasha was acquired for the Olkaria–Lessos–Kisumu Transmission Line Project, valued at Ksh18 billion.
