Nigeria has huge market for electric vehicles - Transport expert, Oyeyemi

Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, a logistics and transportation expert and former Federal Road Safety Corps Marshal, stated that Nigeria has a huge market for electric vehicles. He noted that Nigeria is one of the largest automotive markets in Africa, with opportunities in assembly, component sales, and aftermarket services. Oyeyemi urged the federal government to adopt a long-term auto policy focused on local value creation, citing South Africa, Morocco, and Ethiopia as models. He lamented that the lack of such a policy has led to preventable crash fatalities.
