Algeria reopened its national airspace to all flights to and from Mali as of July 10, 2026, according to the Ministry of National Defense. The closure had been imposed after the Algerian army destroyed a Malian drone in March 2025, prompting reciprocity from Bamako, supported by Ouagadougou and Niamey. Algeria's decision is unilateral: no symmetric lifting has been announced by Mali, which maintains its airspace closure to Algerian aircraft. Air Algérie has not communicated any schedule for resuming flights to Bamako.
